Quick Start Manual

Install

Download the setup executable from the SellerMagic website. Run the setup.exe and follow the installation steps to install the program to a designated directory.

Configure the Program

Run SellerMagic ALT program. At the first time it executes, it will display the following dialog:

 

 

 

Fill out the entries in the dialog:

• Seller Nickname

Your seller’s nickname in Amazon.com. It’s important to make sure that the input nickname is exact the one you use in Amazon.com. This nickname is used by SellerMagic ALT to analyze the third party offers.

 

• Amazon login email and Amazon password

The email and password you use to login to Amazon.com. They are used by SellerMagic ALT to download and upload the inventory to your Amazon.com account.

 

• Directory for backup files

The directory for store the backup file.

 

• Backup every xx minutes

The time interval that the SellerMagic ALT performs an automatic backup.

 

• Temporary files directory

The working directory that SellerMagic ALT uses to store the temporary files

License

 

After the program configuration is completed, the license dialog will be displayed:

 

The program starts as the evaluation version, which has all the features as the licensed version but only saves, uploads or exports up to 10 items. If you would like to purchase the monthly subscription license, click the purchase license button and you will be directed to the SellerMagic purchase web page. The web page will step you through the purchase process and after it is completed, a license key will be emailed to you.

After you get the license key through email, in the same dialog, click the “enter license key” button. In the pop up window, enter the license key and click register. The SellerMagic ALT program will contact the license server and does the registration. If the registration is successful, the program will run in a full licensed mode.

Download (Import) Amazon.com Listings

 

Used Import / new from Amazon menu item to generate a new Amazon.com inventory list report and download it into the program.

 

 

 

This process takes a few minutes or even longer, depends on the Amazon.com server load. But after the request has been successfully received by Amazon.com, you can select to cancel the process and check the generated list later on using menu Import / From Amazon. There, you can download the names of generated open lists first, and select one from a drop-down menu to start the inventory report download.

Attention: if you did not use SKU before in your online inventory, it's important to generate SKU's for all your items and upload the new list to Amazon before doing anything else. Missing SKU could cause a same item being listed multiple times.

Check the SKU field of your list, if you see the field of any item is empty, go to menu "tools/Complete SKU for all your items" to automatically generate SKU's for all the items. The SKU format can be customized through editing the data template format.

 

 

Save the data using File/Save after generating the SKU's.

 

Then replace your Amazon inventory with the new list that has SKU's filled. Use menu "Export/Export to Amazon" to upload the new list. Make sure to use "Purge/Replace" as the upload option.

 

Check the Market and Change price

 

After all items are imported, you can check the market information by using the “fetch market info” toolbar.

 

 

The process will be displayed in the product list view.

Check Details of an Items

 

Use the window switch toolbar to see the detailed information of an item. To do that, first select the item in the product list view and click Detail button in the toolbar. Or you can simply double click an item in the list view.

 

Change Price

 

You can do it either in the product list view or in the detail view.

 

The easiest way is to change to price in the product list view. Simply click the mouse on the price cell that you want to make change, and type the new price. To change in the detail view, select the item and switch to the detail view, then make change in the price field and press “Accept Changes” button. You can use “up” and “down” button in the detail view to navigate to the item you want to edit.

Upload to Amazon.com for re-pricing

After the re-pricing is completed, you can upload the new listing to Amaozn.com using re-pricing mode. The re-pricing mode upload will only change price information and will not affect the quantity. Therefore, the items that are sold online during the re-pricing process won't be overridden with the offline out-of-date quantity. Use menu Export/Upload to Amazon to upload the new list to Amazon.com. Make sure to choose re-price only mode.

 

Add Items

 

To add an item, check “new” button in the toolbar.

 

 

Then enter the properties of the item to the correspondent fields. You will notice that some fields are automatically filled. These default fields are defined in the data template option. Press “Add” button to complete the process.

If the item is a book, after you enter the ISBN information, SellerMagic ALT program will automatically search Amazon.com to get title, picture and other information of the book.

Upload new items to Amazon.com

Use menu Export/Upload to Amazon to upload the new inventory to Amazon.com.

 

 

A dialog will pop up for you to set options and upload to Amazon.com.
