Price check(1)

This is for customizing the market price gathering and comparison configuration.

Search Options

Mark the item conditions which you want to gather the market information for. During the market search process, only the items with the selected conditions will be examined and displayed in the market information view.

Comparison Options (Select compared conditions):

It defines the condition matrix which controls the comparison of your price with the prices offered by other vendors. Use the pull-down list to select all the possible conditions of your goods. For each condition of your offers, define your competitors’ conditions that you would like to compete to.

For example, you may want to define that when the item you sell is in new condition, you only want to beat offers of your competitors if their items are in new or like new condition. In the pull down list, select “New”, and in the “competitor’s condition”, check “New” and “Used; Like New”. All the other conditions will be filtered out and won’t be compared to your price during the market search process. Use the same method to define your competitors’ conditions that you want to compete for each possible condition of your items.

The default condition matrix is listed in the table below:

Price Check (2)

This is for customizing the price competition position calculation and warning configuration.

Price too high Criteria

Set up the criteria that raises “my price is too high” flag.

Higher than the lowest price

If this option is selected, than “my price” will be compared to the lowest price in the “compare” group, which is generated according to the setting in “Price Check (1)” . If “my price” is higher than the lowest price, than the item status is set as “my price is too high”.

The lowest price will be displayed as “competing price” in overview section (left side) of the market information view

Higher than or equal to the lowest price

Same as above except if “my price” is equal to the lowest price, the item status is set as “my price is too high”.

Checkbox: “do not raise flag if my price is equal to the lowest price but my condition is better”

If it is checked, then the status will not be considered as “price is too high” if "my price" is equal to the lowest, but “my condition” is better. For example, if you have a “like new” item listed at $4.00 and there is another vendor lists his “very good” item at exact $4.00, the item will not be considered as “price too high”.

Higher than the average price

“My price” will be compared to the average price of all offers in the “compare” group. The average price will be displayed “competing price” in overview section (left side) of the market information view

Higher than the average of lowest N prices

Same as above except only the lowest N prices will be averaged and compared to “my price”.

Price Too Low Criteria

Set up the criteria that raises “my price is too low” flag.

Checkbox: “Set price too low flag”

Check if you would like to raise the warning flag when the price is too low

Low Price Threshold

Set up the low price threshold in either percentage or absolute value (in $0.01 unit).

Seller Exclusion Setup

Exclude Sellers Whose rating is less than

Check if you want to exclude sellers whose rating is less than certain level. Those sellers will not be included in the price checking process.

Exclude Sellers Whose feedback is less than

Check if you want to exclude sellers whose feedback is less than certain level in the price checking process.

Auto Pricing

It sets up the auto pricing criteria.

Auto price decrease setup

Checkbox: Enable auto decrease

If it’s check, then the item price auto decrease function is enabled.

Checkbox: Use bottom price control

If it’s check, then bottom price control will be applied to the auto price decrease process. It ensures that the item price will not be decreased below the bottom price.

Bottom Price Setup

The bottom price of an item is configured as cost x Y% + A or cost x Y% - A, where Y is some percentage number and A is a fixed dollar amount. The cost is defined in the product detailed view.

For example, if your books is $10.00, and you define you bottom price formula as

cost x 100% + $1.00

Then the bottom price of the book would be $11.00.

During the auto price decrease, the price will not be decreased less than $11.00 to guarantee that you always have at least $1.00 profit.

The middle "plus" or "minus" operator can be toggled by pressing the sign button.

Checkbox: Use maximum adjustment protection

If checked, SellerMagic will not perform auto price decrease if the required adjustment is greater than the configured maximum amount, instead, the SellerMagic ALT will set the flag requesting for manual adjustment.

For example, if your current price is $10.00 with bottom price set at $4.50 and one of your competitors offers it for $6.00, the SellerMagic ALT would automatically decrease your price to $5.99 if there is no maximum adjustment protection. However, if you set the maximum adjustment step as $3.00, since the required adjustment $4.00 ($4.00 = $10.00 - $6.00) exceeds the maximum allowed step ( $3.00) , sellerMagic will not decrease the price. It will markin the status for manual adjustment.

This option is particularly useful to protect your price from going too low in a single adjustment.

Maximum adjustment amount setup

You can choose either a percentage of the current offer price or a fixed amount as the maximum adjustment amount.

Auto price increase setup

Checkbox: Enable auto increase

If it’s check, then the item price auto increase function is enabled. During price checking process, the item price will be automatically raised to the low price threshold if it’s below the threshold. The threshold is calculated by the "price too low criteria" configured in the price check(2) page.

Top Price Setup (checkbox and formula edit)

If the checkbox is checked, sellerMagic will use top price control during auto price increase process.

The top price of an item is the maximum price the sellerMagic will increase to during the auto price increase process. It's configured as list price x Y% + A or cost x Y% - amount, where Y is some percentage number and A is a fixed dollar amount. For example, if your book's listing price is $10.00, and you define you top price formula as listing price x 110% + $0, the top price is calculated $11. If your current price is $8, and the next lowest offer in the market is $14, sellerMagic will automatically raise your price to $11 not $14 if you use the top price control.

System Config

Seller Nickname

Your seller’s nickname in Amazon.com. It’s important to make sure that the input nickname is exact the one you use in Amazon.com. This nickname is used by SellerMagic ALT to analyze the third party offers.

Amazon login email and Amazon password

The email and password you use to login to Amazon.com. They are used by SellerMagic ALT to download and upload the inventory to your Amazon.com account.

AWS Access Key ID and AWS Secret Access Key

To speed up the repricing process, SellerMagic ALT allows you to use your own AWS account instead of the shared one owned by SellerMagic to access Amazon product API. You need to sign up AWS account and get your access key ID and secret access key. The service is free of charge.

When SellerMagic ALT starts up, it automatically accesses your AWS account using your seller account to obtain the access key ID and secret access key. If it could not obtain the information, it will pop up a warning message. When this happens, you can either let SellerMagic ALT fetch the AWS credentials again by restarting the program or manually fill out the information here.

After signing up the free AWS account, it is important to send a request to Amazon to get your AWS access key ID white-listed as a seller. Otherwise, calls to Amazon product API for pricing information will fail.

If AWS access key ID or AWS secret access key are left blank, repricing will still work by using SellerMagic AWS account. But since the shared account is used by many users, the speed for repricing may be slower.
